Mr Harrison, this is Deputy Peter Davis with the Southtown Police Department. If you could, call me back or stop by as soon as possible. There is a matter I need to discuss with you.
I spoke to a James Kirk a couple days ago and he said some rather interesting things about you. I'm personally not inclined to pass judgement on events that happened outside of here, but I would like to hear your side of things.
He claimed that you're mentally unstable and responsible for countless deaths. You also destroyed his ship, no one should trust you as far as they can throw you... Should I go on?
[This isn't exactly typical police etiquette but this isn't a typical place.]
I'm certain he left out any parts that made him or his command innocent in all matters. I have killed people, I won't deny it, but I had no choice, his people were holding my crew, my family, hostage against me to try and keep me pliant and to use me.
And to be fair his own Admiral ruined his ship, I merely aided more during my escape.
If people wish to not trust me in this place that's their choice, but shouldn't we all be working together, Deputy? [Look at this face. He's innocent and wouldn't hurt a fly. Just ask Bruce Banner's face.]
He failed to mention this part. He made it seem like any action you took was out of complete selfishness and ambition, not out of necessity. In such a scenario, sometimes it seems like violence is the only option.
[Peter pauses, and any opinion he has on the matter isn't reflected in his expression.]
Is this the only source for Mr Kirk's vendetta against you? Frankly, I don't care if you're John Harrison or Khan Singh. What I care about is the community here and its overall well-being. Cooperation is the surest way for most to survive, if not find a way out of here indefinitely, and I would hate for something relatively petty to deter from that.
If saving those I cared for was selfish and ambitious then so be it. Would not any of you here do whatever it took to save your family?
[That is the question he likes to pose on everyone. Seems to make them stop and think a little. Still he doesn't approve of Peter's choice of words.]
Petty? What is between Captain Kirk and I is not petty. His commanding officer killed my family. I have nothing left-- [His tone is sharp, anger boils just underneath it, but he'll keep it reigned in. Still, it takes a few seconds before he changes the subject back to 'lets all be buddies'.]
I have no intentions of singling him out for vengeance, if that's what you're concerned about. My goal here is the same as anyone else. To find a way out of this place. [And to make every. Single. Technician. Pay.]
There is nothing I would not do to for those I care about.
[That's as close 'I understand' that Peter will say.]
The intent was not to belittle your losses. But yes, that is my concern here. I can't blame you for holding personal grievances against him, but with the way things are here... well, there is little point in making things easier for whom or what enjoys causing so much death.
Good to know, Mr Harrison. This isn't gradeschool or anything like that, but should a problem arise with him, you can come to me with it and I'll take care of it.

[Oh he'd heard. He's just going to play ignorant though. Because he can.]
Care to elaborate?

I've no intentions to cause trouble, deputy. No matter what the young Starfleet captain may continue say. [Pinky swear.]
